Jim McGill, the first private eye to live in the White House,is called on to do his first overseas investigation. Fellow former Chicago cop Glen Kinnard has beaten to death the star of the French national soccer team. Kinnard swears he was only trying to protect a blonde woman as French law requires, but the blonde has disappeared and McGill must search Paris to find her.
