Shadow Pack 02.0 - A Shot in the Dark

At least I have my bonded mate, Drew, to keep me company after we discovered that the hidden land of Arcadia—our pack’s territory—is closed off to us. Well, me, but after our last separation, he refuses to leave me behind.

How did we find out that I’m the one being blocked? My new pet cat told me, of course.

So maybe the big tomcat isn’t my pet. Fred calls himself my ‘auditor’, which is celestial-speak for ‘babysitter’. Turns out that my big secret isn’t all that secret anymore. Both the devil himself and the Creator of Heaven have finally figured out that there’s a living, breathing Nephilim on earth.

One of them has a problem with the living, breathing part. The other is ticked off that I have a soulmate since you can’t sell your soul to the devil when you willingly gave it away to your best friend.

Our bond is the only thing keeping Drew from succumbing to the shadows of the devil’s curse. Nick’s made it clear: he wants me as his pawn, and if he has to control me through my tie to Drew, he will.

Yeah? He can try—and, Alpha damn it, the tricky devil does.

With the total eclipse behind us and the rest of the Shadow Pack still under the same curse as my mate, our only hope is the Legend of the Purple Moon. It’s a shot in the dark, our ace in the hole, but we need to find a way back into Arcadia first.

I think it might be time I call in a favor…
