Africa South of the Sahara (Modern World Cultures)

Geographers typically recognize the continent of Africa as consisting of
two regions: North Africa and Africa south of the Sahara. Surrounded by
majestic mountain ranges, boundless deserts, and ancient historic
cities, Africa south of the Sahara is rich with gold, diamonds, and oil,
yet its people are among the poorest. Recent wars, ethnic conflicts,
and AIDS have also taken their toll. However, through all of these,
Africans have survived and stayed resilient. This book presents the
